Koichi Yoshino
BMus(Hons), PGDip RCM, DipABRSM, LRSM
Koichi Yoshino is a British pianist born in 1977 to the Japanese parents. He began his piano education at the age of five. In 1993 having been awarded the scholarship towards his music education by Stow School, Buckinghamshire, he moved to England to study with Denise Patton who discovered his talent and encouraged him to continue studying at the Royal College of Music in London.
After having studied with the great international pianists such as Andrew Ball, Patricia Carroll and Niel Immelman at the Royal College of Music in London, where he received Kendall Taylor Prize for the best interpretation of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in the College, he has performed in the numerous festivals and concerts both in England and Japan and had the success in winning several piano competitions including National piano competition in Japan sponsored by the Italian Ministry of Culture.
He has been teaching piano extensively for over a decade in London while performing as a soloist and an accompanist.
Koichi is now based in Paris where he continues to pursuit his musical career as a pianist. Having obtained two instrumental teaching qualifications, Diploma (DipABRSM) and Licentiate (LRSM) from the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music he is officially qualified to teach up to the highest grade defined by the exam board. He is passionate to impart his knowledge and wisdom of piano playing as a teaching specialist.
